Frequently asked questions

Including the awkward ones. If your question is not here, ask us and we will add it.

Buying & grading

What does “ex-UK” actually mean here?+

A pre-owned handset imported from the United Kingdom. Phones there are usually bought on contract, upgraded early and traded in while still in good condition, so ex-UK stock tends to arrive in better shape than locally used equivalents of the same age. Every one is IMEI-verified against blacklists, tested across 42 functional checkpoints, has its battery measured under load, is cleaned and sanitised, and ships with a 12-month warranty tied to its IMEI.

What is the difference between the grades?+

Cosmetic grades apply to ex-UK stock only and describe appearance, nothing else. Like New has no visible marks and 95%+ battery. Excellent has a spotless screen, the faintest frame wear and 90%+ battery. Good may have light scuffs or a small mark on the rear glass, and 85%+ battery. Brand new stock is sealed, so it carries no cosmetic grade at all. Every unit passes the same functional test.

Are the photos of the actual phone I will receive?+

The product illustrations show the model and colourway you selected. On ex-UK stock, cosmetic condition is governed by the grade — ask us before dispatch and we will photograph your specific unit and send the pictures the same day. Brand new units arrive sealed and are not opened for photography.

Do you sell new phones?+

Yes, on current models — the iPhone 15 and 16 series, and the Galaxy S23 onwards, are stocked factory sealed alongside ex-UK. Everything else is ex-UK, and every listing states plainly which it is. We never blur that line; sellers who do are the reason this market has a trust problem.

Are the phones unlocked?+

Yes. Every phone is network-unlocked and works on Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom.

Battery & condition

How do you measure battery health?+

We discharge under a controlled load and measure real capacity, rather than reading the software figure — that number drifts over time and can be reset by third-party tools. We publish the minimum for every listing, not a best case.

What if the battery is worse than advertised?+

We replace it free of charge, or take the phone back. The same applies at any point in the first 12 months if health drops below 80%.

Is the phone still water resistant?+

On brand new sealed stock, the manufacturer's rating applies as normal. On ex-UK we inspect the seals but do not guarantee water resistance, and neither should anyone else — seals degrade with age and with every prior repair. Treat any pre-owned phone as not water resistant.

Delivery & payment

How long does delivery take?+

Nairobi 1–2 business days, metro counties 2–3, major towns 2–4, elsewhere 3–5. Same-day express is available in Nairobi if you order before 12:00. The exact estimate for your county appears at checkout.

How much is delivery?+

From KSh 350 in Nairobi, rising with distance. Standard delivery is free on every order over KSh 50,000, countrywide. Pick-up stations and store collection are free.

Can I pay on delivery?+

Yes, in Nairobi and the metro counties. Elsewhere we ask for payment before dispatch because the courier network cannot reliably handle cash outside those areas.

Do you offer payment plans?+

Yes — Lipa Pole Pole. A 40% deposit and the balance over up to three months, with a one-off facilitation fee shown before you commit and no compounding interest. Details on the financing page.

Warranty & returns

How long is the warranty?+

12 months on phones and accessories, and 6 months on any repair we carry out. The warranty is tied to the device IMEI, so it survives you losing the receipt and transfers if you sell the phone.

Can I return a phone if I simply change my mind?+

Yes, within 7 days of delivery, for any reason, with free courier collection. It must be in the condition you received it, with accessories, and signed out of all accounts.

What is not covered by the warranty?+

Accidental damage, liquid damage, damage from unauthorised repair, normal cosmetic wear during your ownership, and gradual battery decline that stays at or above 80%. Everything else that goes wrong and was not caused by you is covered.

How fast are warranty claims handled?+

We respond within one business day, diagnose within three working days of receiving the device, and typically complete repairs within 5–10 working days from collection. Collection, diagnosis, repair and return are free on a valid claim.

Trade-in & repairs

How accurate is the online trade-in estimate?+

It is only as accurate as what you tell us. If the device matches your description, we pay the estimate in full. If it differs, we issue a revised offer with the specific reason and the amount of each adjustment — and return the phone free if you decline.

Do you buy phones that do not power on?+

Sometimes, but not remotely. Book a free diagnostic and we will quote once a technician has physically seen it.

Do you repair phones I did not buy from you?+

Yes, any iPhone or Samsung. Diagnosis is free on devices bought from us and on warranty claims; otherwise a KSh 1,000 diagnostic fee applies and is credited in full against the repair.

Will you tell me if a repair is not worth it?+

Yes. If the repair cost approaches the phone's value, we say so and suggest trading it in instead. We would rather lose a repair than take money for something that does not make sense.

Partner programme

How much does the partner programme pay?+

4% at Bronze rising to 6% at Platinum, calculated on the device subtotal. Payouts run every Friday to M-Pesa or bank, with a KSh 1,000 minimum.

Does it cost anything to join?+

No. No joining fee, no monthly fee, no stock to buy. If anyone asks you to pay to become a partner, it is not us.

Can I earn commission on my own order?+

No. Self-referrals earn nothing, and attempting it is the most common reason partner accounts get suspended.
